Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name, a birth year, or a case number into one of the search boxes on this site, that input goes to the outside provider that runs the search. The provider processes it and returns results. We do not keep or log the terms you type.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message so we can answer it. It stays with our team and is not shared outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, our servers record basic technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you use and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The referring site, when one exists
- A timestamp for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device. They help us see which pages get used and where visitors leave. Analytics services aggregate that traffic data for us. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time; some parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the partner service that answers it
- Learning which pages help readers and which ones need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Serving ads that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. What it publishes is general guidance about where Jackson County warrant records sit and how to check them through the 12th District Court, the County Clerk, and the Sheriff's Office. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors becomes a consumer report about anyone.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Anything you type into one of those tools is handled under that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those companies decide how long they keep data and whom they share it with, and we have no control over those choices. Read the partner's policy before you run a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to court pages, county offices, state agencies, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy governs from that point. Read it before you submit personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may reach:
- Search partners that handle the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- A court or law-enforcement body when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect what we collect. No internet-connected system is perfect, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Michigan's public-records and privacy framework gives residents certain rights over information an organization holds about them. Under Michigan's Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231, any person may ask a public body to inspect or copy a public record, and exemptions under MCL 15.243 govern what may be withheld. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change over time. When it does, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to follow how your information is handled.
